11/22/2003 · just recently i have noticed that when i start the car for about 3-5secs there is a very loud ticking noise coming from the engine . This doesn’t happen all the time and its starting to annoy me now. I was thinking it might be the lifters but the noise goes after about 3.
4/6/2008 · right well what started was a ticking tapping noise in the head of my engine at first i thought it was the lifters tapping so i did a oil change and additive (wynns ) dident work so i thought id get a new set of lifters fitted see if that would take away the noise ive just got the lifters today of ebay so before i get them fitted i tuck it out for a spin got it into second and let the revs go …
11/1/2003 · Wen I rev the engine I’m not sure whether the sound stops or whether I just can’t hear it cos of the revs. When the engines warmed up it doesn’t do much at all, however I do still get a different tickin noise which I have noticed for a while now. I have a 1.2 16v btw. So the engine is driven by a chain belt rather than a normal cam belt.
